Whether we want to think about it or not, the autumn and winter months are in sight, so now could be a good time to beat the crowds and start preparing your winter wardrobe. New Look has started to introduce its winter range, and one coat caught our eye because it bears a striking resemblance to a high-end option that costs over £200 more.
New Look’s Black Hooded Cropped Puffer is priced at £38.99, but we think it looks a lot like Lululemon’s Wunder Puff 600-Down-Fill Cropped Jacket. The difference in price, however, is quite notable. The Lulu Lemon puffer would set you back a hefty £278, which is a price difference of £239.01.
Both items are designed in a cropped length with a snug hood and central zip closure. They also have a similar padded design. Both coats also close right up to the chin to keep you warm on colder days. But, while the New Look version has a zip right to the top, the Lulu Lemon jacket utilises press studs to keep the neck of the coat firmly shut.
While they look similar aesthetically, the interior padding is different. New Look says its version has midweight polyester padding, while the Lululemon version is made from 600-fill down.
The Wunder Puff 600-Down-Fill Cropped Jacket is available in one colour: black. However, New Look provides shoppers with more options. The Hooded Cropped Puffer is also available in off-white, mink, and brown. The New Look jacket also has a petite and tall option.
New Look’s coat comes in a broader range of sizes, with shoppers able to purchase it in sizes six to 22, reports The Manchester Evening News. The pricier coat has a slightly more restricted size range, available in size two (which is a UK six) to size 14 (UK 18).
If you have a bit more to spend, Uniqlo’s Seamless Down Parka is another great choice, now reduced to £99.90 from £129.90. Made from windproof, durable water-repellent outer fabric and filled with high-performance premium down, the jacket boasts a ‘cocoon’ silhouette with a hood and cushioned collar for extra neck warmth.
Next provides a more wallet-friendly option, with the Black Lightweight Quilted Jacket priced at £50. Available in sizes extra small to XXL in petite and regular fits, the jacket features a quilted design with side pockets and a practical yet comfortable hood.
