The invasive longhorned tick species is posing new health risks as scientists warn that it could potentially lead to an Ehrlichiosis infection, a bacterial infection that could be fatal if left untreated. Increasing temperatures means shorter winters and more opportunities for tick bites in at least 21 states where the species has been spotted.
